SOMETIMES, I GET A LITTLE ANNOYED…

11Mar09

… with spreads in magazines or on websites that feature items described as “bargain”, “cheap” or “affordable” and those items still cost a couple hundred dollars. While I completely understand that in relation to some other things, especially where furniture, etc, is concerned, $200 actually IS fairly cheap and might be a real bargain compared to items of a similar style, what if you just don’t have 200 bucks? What if you just REALLY can’t afford it? I get a little frustrated.

That is why I am loving the following 3 projects. One is basically free, one is a $96 version of a $700 table** and the third is just kind of cool and could be adapted in so many ways.

(**Ok, don’t think I don’t realize that endorsing a $96 project in a post that agonizes over $200 isn’t slightly hypocritical. It is. But really, wait til you see it. And if you’re really good, YOU might be able to do it for less)

First, via design*sponge , drawer dividers (I LOVE diy wednesdays on d*s!):

Second, also via design*sponge, these tables from Britt at Cucumbersome:

and lastly, from makeunder my life, 15 minute no paint artwork:
